Job done. Mehr nicht, aber mehr muss in so einem Spiel auch nicht.

geil,Hauptsache eine Runde weiter!konnte das Match zwar leider nicht sehen,es ging nix,aber naja...

Sieg ist Sieg, Miller wieder ne Pause gegönnt, was gut ist, weil er jz 3 wohl spiele lang 90min alleine im sturm kämpfen wird!
Das Mittelfeld kommt langsam in fahrt, aber braucht noch immer ein paar spiele. Auf jeden fall bringt thomson mehr stabilität ins spiel, allerdings haben wir hinten einige schwächen. Weir hat sicherlich erfahrung und klasse, aber man merkt ihm sein alter immer mehr an. Sind wir, wovon ich ausgehe, nach dem winter noch international vertreten dann müssen wir unbedingt einen innenverteidiger holen! Alle anderen positionen sind recht gut besetzt, außer vl noch ein spielmacher.

Scheinbar keine Verletzungen und die nächste Runde erreicht. Alles in Ordnung. In solchen Spielen kannste nicht glänzen. Da musst Du die Härte mitgehen und Herr der Lage bleiben. Das ist uns über weite Strecken gelungen.

Hauptsache das Dingen gewonnen...is nie leicht bei so ´nem unbequemen Gegner Jetzt heißt es die Konzentration auf Samstag richten. 3 Spiele ohne Sieg können wir uns einfach nicht erlauben.....

Jup ... durchgekämpft und die Doonhamers sind nicht zu unterschätzen. Waren ja nicht umsonst 2008 unsere Gegner im Pokalendspiel. Jetzt beginnt die schwere Woche.

Aber egal, ob Aberdeen aus dem Pokal geflogen ist, das wird am Samstag ne Schlacht. Ist es ja eigentlich immer gegen die Dons.

ja aber zu hause haben wir eigentlich immer gut gegen die Sheepshaggers ausgesehen,at Pittodrie dagegen waren es tatsächliche Schlachten und Fights, wo wir oft unsere Probleme hatten!

WALTER SMITH feels Rangers are getting closer to their best form after their 2-1 League Cup win over Queen of the South in Dumfries.

The Light Blues moved into the last eight of the competition through goals either side of half time from Steven Naismith and substitute Nacho Novo.

Pedro Mendes and Nacho Novo celebrateGers were excellent in the first half hour and played some good possession football, probing and causing the First Division outfit all sorts of problems.

Although the SPL champions' standards slipped a little after that, Smith was pleased to see his men show flashes of what they're capable of.

He said: "When we got the draw for this game, we appreciated the fact it wasn't going to be easy. Queens made it tough and we expected that.

"We saw in the Scottish Cup final just over a year ago that they're a good side and that proved to be the case again tonight.

"We started very well and had great possession in the first half hour. We also made chances and we were good initially.

"After that, there was a little bit of casualness in our play and I felt we were a little bit slack on occasion. That led to a number of opportunities for Queens.

"We got a good second goal through Nacho after settling again and that gave us the bit of breathing space we needed.

"Credit to Queens, they kept fighting and got the goal they needed to make a game of it again and we had to hang on a little.

"On reflection, they perhaps deserved their goal for what they put into the game while I feel we were excellent in spells."

Smith was particularly happy with Rangers' two goals, both resulting from quick bursts upfield that left the Queens offside trap in tatters.

Naismith converted when Kris Boyd darted clear down the right then crossed after quarter of an hour while Novo's winner came 11 minutes from the end.

Bob Harris pulled one back in injury time but it was too late to deny Gers a place in the draw for the next round tomorrow.

Smith added: "Both players did well to score. Steven's goal came as a result of a good run from Kris then Nacho punished a bit of slackness from Queens.

"I'm delighted we got through. Palmerston Park is always a difficult place to come to and win, especially when you look at other results.

"People expect us to win but it is hard at places such as this and Queens put up a great deal of fight that I felt we dealt with."

Super Tor von Harris, doch auch Novos ist nicht übel. Ebenso schöner Paß von Boyd auf Naismith.

Beinbruch bei Steven Tosh. Man musste es gestern in der Szene schon befürchten.
