Bougherra kann ja laut einigen Zeitungen eh jz höchstens eine gelbe karte kriegen und deshalb wurde schon angekündigt (sagte auch magic selbst) dass er am sonntag spielen kann & wird. Bei Lafferty ist es wie mit den anderen (Loovens & McDonald), er kann ne strafe erst für nächste saison erhalten!

MADJID BOUGHERRA will be at the heart of Rangers' defence as they go for glory at Tannadice on Sunday.

The SFA's Video Review Panel today reduced the red card issued to him in last week's game against Aberdeen to a yellow card.

Bougherra had been sent off on the say-so of assistant referee Graham Chambers who thought the Algerian had deliberately tried to kick Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield on the head.

Referee Stuart Dougal looked at the incident again on Tuesday and decided Bougherra's challenge should not have resulted in a sending off.

The Review Panel have concurred and Bougherra is now clear to play in Sunday's match as Rangers bid to win their first title in four years.

Aberdeen defender Charlie Mulgrew has also had his red card from the same game reduced to a yellow.

The Review Panel also considered the alleged act of simulation by Kyle Lafferty in this incident and they have decided that the matter should be referred to the SFA's Disciplinary Committee.

The Disciplinary Committee is scheduled to meet before the start of next season.

At this meeting they will also consider the challenge by Celtic's Glenn Loovens on Mo Edu in the recent Old Firm game and also the challenge of Scott McDonald on Dundee United's Lee Wilkie.

Any subsequent suspensions would obviously not kick in until next season.

Madjid Bougherra of Rangers and Charlie Mulgrew of Aberdeen have had the red cards they received during last weekend's match between the two clubs reduced to yellow, following a meeting of the Review Panel this morning.

The Review Panel also decided that the incidents involving Scott McDonald of Celtic during the match against Dundee United and Glenn Loovens of Celtic during the match against Rangers should be referred to the next meeting of the Scottish FA Disciplinary Committee.

The Review Panel also considered the alleged act of simulation by Kyle Lafferty of Rangers during the match against Aberdeen. They have decided that the matter should also be referred to the Scottish FA Disciplinary Committee.

The Disciplinary Committee is scheduled to meet before the start of next season.

In Bezug auf Lafferty müssen SFA/SPL ja auch vorher erst einmal die Regeln ändern. Bisher gab es das nicht, dass ein Simulant gesperrt wird. Ich wäre damit vorsichtig, weil das wird zukünftig nur ein gegenseitiges Anschwärzen zur Folge haben. Andererseits sollten Spieler damit auch nicht durchkommen. Ist nicht einfach. Lafferty aber zu sperren wäre eine Frechheit, da es zum Zeitpunkt seiner saudummen Aktion eigentlich noch nicht diesen Passus in den Statuten gab.

Bougherra und Mulgrew mussten freigesprochen werden. Mulgrew war klar und Bougherra hatte der Linesman eben aus seiner Sicht neben dem harten Einsteigen ein Nachtreten gesehen, welches aber nicht stattfand. Das war der Ball. Daher kein Rot für eine Aktion, die es nunmal nicht gab. Schwein gehabt, aber korrekte Entscheidung.

Dass die beiden Grünen noch frei sind sollte nicht wundern. Bei McDonald sollte es meiner Meinung nach auch nicht geahndet werden, aber was Loovens für eine Narrenfreiheit genießt ist schon beeindruckend. Sei es drum.

Oh, mir war nicht so befusst, dass Simulation bisher nicht geahndet worden ist, hat bis vor kurzem auch noch nicht sooo eine Bedeutung gespielt, da es eigentlich nie vorkam. Ist natürlich widerrum auch klar, dass es ausgerechnet wieder auf dem Rücken vom Rangers FC ausgetragen wird. Jetzt wird nach jedem Spiel das Geschrei groß sein, und jeder Spieler wird nach jedem Foul den anderen als Simulanten bezeichnen......wenn es ab jetzt eine Regel gilt, dann ist es so, eine Ausnahme sollte eine mögliche Bestrafung Lafferty´s nicht sein, zumal er sich öffentlich mehrmals entschuldigt hat, und seine Aktion bereut, was man nicht von jedem behaupten kann.....

Ich kann mich jedenfalls nicht an ähnliche Bestrafungen erinnern. Wo wird dann auch der Unterschied gemacht? Schwalbe, absichtliche Tore per Hand usw.. Würde das alles darunter fallen?

Da sollen sie sich mal lieber erst einmal Gedanken machen, bevor sie wieder etwas anfangen und das dann wie bei den Gesängen nicht gebacken bekommen und nur einseitig vorgehen. Ich würde Simulanten und Betrügern ne saftige Geldstrafe aufdrücken aber keine Sperren.

War das von Boogie eigentlich ein gelbwürdiges Foul oder gar kein Foul?

Ich weiß nicht, aber (auch etwas zu harte) Entscheidungen der Schiedsrichter sollten von den Verbänden doch grundsätzlich nicht mehr angetastet werden. Keine Frage, Mulgrews rote Karte musste zurückgenommen werden. Das war aber auch ein absoluter Ausnahmefall. Das nachträgliche Eingreifen in andere Situationen ist aber doch nichts anderes als ein verkappter Videobeweis

Doch, gelbwürdig war es schon. Rot hat er aber für eine Sache bekommen, die er nicht gemacht hat und dafür gibt es halt den Videobeweis. Bougherra hat im Liegen noch mit dem Ball "jongliert" und das hatte der Linienrichter aus seiner Sicht als Nachtreten gegen Langfield angesehen und dafür Rot vorgeschlagen, was Dougal, da er gar nichts gesehen hatte, übernahm. So gesehen ist die Entscheidung die rote Karte zurückzunehmen schon korrekt, wobei man sicher darüber streiten kann, ob der Videobeweis und damit die Änderungen von Entscheidungen in "zweiter Instanz", gut oder schlecht ist.

Wenn man den Videobeweis beibehält, dann muss er aber natürlich für beide Seiten gelten. Sprich für die nachträgliche Bestrafung von Spielern nach z.B. einer verdeckten Tätlichkeit und aber eben auch nach einer Fehlentscheidung zu Ungunsten des Spielers. Wird immer so ein schmaler Grat sein. Gibt wohl keine Ideallösung.

War da nicht mal was mit dem einen litauischen hearts spieler? Mikolaunus oder so?

Nach wie vor muss sich etwas ändern!! Da darf der Titelgewinn nicht drüber hinwegtäuschen. Diese und die letzte Saison waren inakzeptabel!!

What's the point? "Britisches" Team NUR mit Engländern!
Verstehe dass alle anderen Verbände, Wales, Nordirland & Schottland, nicht teilnehmen und somit ihre eigenständigkeit gefährden wollen!
Trotzdem sicher wieder ein weiterer Punkt der das UK auseinanderzieht und die einzelnen Länder stärkt!

Anxious wait for SPL clubs as Setanta fail to make £3m SPL TV payment

SPL bosses were last night bracing themselves for financial meltdown.

It is understood Setanta yesterday failed to pay the final instalment of this season's deal - just over three million pounds - sending Scottish footballs top club's into a panic.

The company's financial woes are well documented and Scotland's leading clubs have been fearing the worst for some time as they depend heavily on the company's money.

Setanta were contracted to broadcast Scottish football until next year but that deal, which brought in s14m a year, was renegotiated to run until 2014 at a whopping s31m a year.

The company have worked feverishly to find solutions to their problems but there are some within the SPL who fear their own financial situation will be hit badly.

However a few SPL sources last night said they remain confident Setanta will find a way out of their troubles.

The Old Firm and Aberdeen were against accepting Setanta's deal, preferring to go instead with Sky, but no one was gloating last night - they all need Setanta's money, including the big two.

A spokesman for the company said: "Setanta will continue to talk to rights holders, investors and other interested parties with a view to reaching a successful conclusion which will save the company."

Loss of television income could be the final financial blow for leading Scottish clubs, according to football accountants PKF.

Both Setanta and the Scottish Premier League have refused to comment on reports the broadcaster had failed to pay a final £3million instalment for the season.

The SPL also denied claims an emergency meeting would be held by member clubs on Wednesday to discuss the issue.

However, a league spokesman admitted a number of decisions were being made behind the scenes to ensure the future of their relationship with Setanta.

The company, who are understood to need to raise tens of millions of pounds of capital in the coming months, have already asked to renegotiate their deal with the SPL after losing one of their contracts with the Premier League.

The latest development increases the financial pressure on SPL clubs fearing a loss in revenue from sponsorship, merchandise and season-ticket sales.

Charles Barnett, football industry partner with PKF, said: "This is not what the SPL teams wanted to hear at this stage in the year.

"Many will have been relying on the Setanta income to fund wages and running costs through June and July and the potential loss of this income could push many of the smaller clubs into great difficulty.

"The broadcast income is distributed according to a club's placing in the league and, although those further down the league will not receive as much as those at the top, it is likely to be proportionately more meaningful to them financially.

"These clubs tend to be very reliant on fixed income from broadcast rights, particularly during a period when there are no gate receipts or sponsorship opportunities and very little merchandise income.

"This means that an already strained financial environment has just got considerably worse."

The 12 SPL clubs came to an agreement in April following Setanta's request to renegotiate the four-year deal due to begin at the start of the 2010-11 season, which was initially worth £125million.

Estimates claimed up to £20million could be wiped off the value of that increased deal but the apparent inability to meet one of the demands of their £13.5million annual contract raises further fears.

Barnett added: "In the worst case, this could leave the SPL looking for a new broadcaster for the coming season with the possibility of substantially-reduced media revenues given the current economic climate and the limited time available to find a new media partner.

"Football is going through a difficult time at the moment and it seems that this is the latest in a string of very problematic issues to hit the SPL teams.

"It is to be hoped that they will all survive the next few months but this kind of news makes the likelihood of survival all the more problematic."

Setanta began their association with the SPL in 2004 after the television deal with BBC Scotland expired.
